Catherine Loretta Walsh Frisse
In the presence of her family and fortified with the Sacraments, Catherine Loretta Walsh Frisse passed away at her Town and Country home on Tuesday, March 26, 2013. She had been bravely battling breast cancer for over 20 years. She is survived by her husband of 35 years Dr. Mark Edwin Frisse; by her daughters Elizabeth and Ann; by her father James W. Walsh; by her brother James L. Walsh and his partner Cindy Kaplan; and by her brother Matthew Walsh, his partner Jeffrey Olander, and their daughters Savahnah and Gianna Olander-Walsh. She is preceded in death by her mother, Mary Ann Walsh.

Born in York Pennsylvania, Cathy received a bachelors degree at St. Louis University and a masters degree at the University of Missouri St. Louis. She had a long career as a teacher, volunteer, and philanthropist. She received Whitfield School's Louis Lazarus Award in 2003 and the Mary Leyhe Burke Award in 2007. Cathy found pleasure in her family, friends, her church, and in supporting educational activities. As she had during her husband's medical education and training, she supported the needs of both her daughters and their medical school classmates at the University of Missouri and the Washington University Schools of Medicine. In life, through her illness, and in death, Cathy continues to inspire all who know and love her.

Cathy and her family give special thanks to Dr. Barbara Horn, her remarkable staff, Dr. J. William Campbell, and the many friends and family who supported her in life and through her final days.

Services: The family will receive friends and from 3:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Monday, April 1st at Ambruster Chapel, 6633 Clayton Road. A funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, April 2 at St. Francis Xavier (College Church) 3628 Lindell Boulevard. A reception will be held after the Mass.
